The children enjoy celebrating and joining in with different festivals throughout the year, such as Diwali, Halloween, Chinese New Year and Harvest Festival.

We have had an amazing experience hatching chicks at nursery this year. We now have 7 little chicks to take care of, eveyday the children handle the chicks and help to feed and clean them out. We keep them at nursery in our garden and we are excited to see them grow and lay eggs.

At Railway we have a love for our outside space and we have grown our own food. The children often visit Rassle's Garden Centre to buy the plants and seeds. At the moment we are growing apples, corn on the cob, strawberries, broccoli, celery, tomatoes and cauliflower.

Here at Railway Children's Day Nursery we go on lots of adventures, we explore the local countryside, visit our local forest, we've even been known to have lunch at the local tea rooms. We are also lucky to have the spinney up the road, where the children enjoy looking for the Gruffalo or going over the trolls clip clack bridge. The children love to try out new skills like balancing and climbing.

The children had lots of fun making a garden for the fairies by planting flowers and making them a bench to sit on. We also took a walk up the lane as the fairies had left us the surprise of a new fairy to look after and play with.
